Violin cane with curved handle made of mahogany and tuning key, fingerboard and tailpiece made of ebony probably Germany 2nd half of the 19th century. To play the violin, the handle must first be removed in order to be able to remove the short bow from the sound box. Then the handle must be reattached to act as a chin rest and the bridge must be positioned correctly. The pegs on which the strings are wound and tuned are not made of ebony as usual, but are short metal pins, similar to the pegs on a piano, which can be turned using a small tuning key. This tuning key, which is only about 5 cm long, is stored together with the bow inside the violin's sound box.The high-quality workmanship of the instruments corresponds to that of violins in general. Total length 90 cm.
