Student cane with a horn pommel decorated with an embedded mother-of-pearl disc, probably Germany or Austria, 2nd half of the 19th century. Separately, a wooden tobacco pipe carved with three hunting dogs and a metal lid. The mouthpiece made of bone is embedded in the shaft below the pommel; the pipe bowl is screwed onto the end of the shaft after the metal ferrule has been unscrewed. The hollow shaft of brown wood is painted with black grain.
